Hello!

It’s great to meet you! I come with over 20 years of experience in both Canada and Australia in clinical practice, teaching, research, and leadership roles in physiotherapy. While I’m so happy to be back in Toronto, I still have very strong connections with my friends, family and colleagues down under!

I am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) as well as a Musculoskeletal Specialist Physiotherapist awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapy in 2015. I am the immediate past Chair of Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and a past chair of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia. I’m an examiner, complex case study marker and case study advisor for the Australian College of Physiotherapy, an Adjunct Clinical Professor at McMaster and I am involved in teaching at the University of Toronto. My published research is in whiplash associated disorders and pain sensitivity measures, and I continue to bring the latest evidence into my clinical practice as best I can.

I’m passionate about making sense of people’s unique circumstances that led them to physiotherapy and using manual therapy, movement and exercise to bring them towards recovery and better health.

My main areas of focus in physiotherapy are in: • Acute and chronic neck pain and low back pain • Whiplash associated disorders and concussion • Headache and dizziness • Nerve pain/Radiculopathy I look forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve your goals.

We would like to congratulate Roxy on her recent teaching appointment at UofT. At this time she w... Read More

Hi, Nice to meet you!

I’m Nicola, and I’m so excited to be part of the team here at Resilience Physiotherapy.

I grew up on a farm in Kingston Ontario, spending my childhood running around outdoors, climbing trees, and riding horses (as well as doing my fair share of farm work), and developing a life-long love of the great outdoors. Helping to train horses and teach horseback riding lessons left me with a fascination for movement mechanics, and an interest in how to teach different movement patterns.

I completed my Master’s in Physiotherapy at McMaster University, and a clinical residency in orthopaedics at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

I’ve spent the last decade helping people get back to moving better and feeling better. I specialize in orthopaedics, sports medicine, and women’s health.

In the clinic, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatments: I love blending precise hands-on therapy with movement-based recovery to help you move with strength and ease.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, navigating any aches and pains of parenthood, dealing with symptoms of menopause, or just want to feel stronger and more confident in your daily life, I’m here to help you get back to doing what you love.

Hello! My name is Shannon & I was born and raised a country girl, but ended up settling in Toronto’s High Park area with my husband and two kiddos who keep me on my toes!

As a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT), I am a certified Gunn-IMS (dry needling) practitioner and have specialized training in Acupuncture. This extensive training and unique skillset allows me to pull from various modalities during the time we are working together.

My Physiotherapy specialities include treating those with:

  • Acute and chronic neck and back pain
  • Athletes with sports injuries at all levels
  • Post-op rehabilitation for orthopaedic surgeries

Giving back to the physiotherapy profession is something I take great pride in. I love mentoring the physiotherapists who work with me and leading small-group clinical units at the University of Toronto. Working through complex cases together and helping clinicians develop their confidence and clinical reasoning is one of my favourite parts of the job.

Teaching continually challenges me to grow, keeps my skills sharp, and ultimately helps me provide even better care to my patients.

I really enjoy working with an active population who’s engaged in their treatment. I look forward to helping return you to whatever your favourite sport or activity may be!

Hi there! I am a registered physiotherapist and graduate from the University of Toronto’s MScPT program. I am so excited to be returning to the city of my alma mater as a part of the Resilience Physiotherapy team!

I became interested in a career as a physiotherapist during my undergraduate studies, whilst volunteering for a mental health counselling service. It was at this time that I came to understand the huge link between emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

As such, I value a holistic physiotherapy treatment style that not only includes a combination of treatment techniques, but takes into account my client’s circumstances, goals, and priorities. My physiotherapy interests include chronic low back pain, shoulder injuries, and post-hip/knee replacement.

I have taken courses with the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal physiotherapy program including Level 2 Lower, and will be taking Level 2 Upper in the fall. I also have training in vestibular physiotherapy via the course Mastering BPPV, BVL and UVL.

I consider myself a life-long learner and am so excited to take more courses in the coming years, including dry needling, acupuncture and pelvic health.

Outside of the clinic I like to spend my time jogging, bullet journalling, or playing the piano. I’m also a big foodie, and am always looking for new cafe and restaurant recommendations!

Hi there! I’m Dr. Brian Wright, your dedicated Chiropractor at Resilience Physiotherapy. I’ve always been fascinated by the way the body moves, adapts, and heals, especially when the nervous system and musculoskeletal system work together in harmony. I have now been practising as a chiropractor since 2018, after graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College here in Toronto. I approach every patient as a unique story, not just a symptom. Whether you’re struggling with persistent back pain, nagging neck discomfort, headaches, or postural challenges, I take the time to understand not just what hurts, but why it’s happening. We’ll work together to uncover the root of your issue and build a plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. I love helping people: • Get out of pain and move more freely • Improve posture and spinal health • Understand how their body is functioning and what they can do about it • Return to the activities they care about with confidence My approach blends hands-on chiropractic care, acupuncture, movement education, and individualized rehab strategies, all with clear communication and genuine partnership. You’ll always be an active participant in your recovery, with tools and knowledge to keep you progressing outside our sessions. When I’m not in clinic, you can find me hosting board game nights with friends, exploring Toronto’s food scene, or swimming laps at the local pool, because I believe living well is a lifelong adventure. Let’s work together to help you feel better in your body, and get back to what you love doing most!
